Basement Project: Plumbing Backfill and Concrete
This is one job I originally had planned on hiring out… mostly because I didn’t feel like dealing with 80-lb bags of mix. I called around and found the prices to be too high at around $600, so I fired up the Forester, hooked up the trailer, and bought a few bags of Quikrete at Home Depot. Luckily enough, the bags were on sale for something like 30% off. The total was around $70 including the mixer rental! I bought 25 bags, but only used 14. Nothing quite like loading 25 bags in to the trailer, 25 bags out of the trailer, loading 11 of them back in the trailer, then loading 11 on to the cart at Home Depot. I didn’t have to work out that day, that’s for sure.
- My Forester saves the day, again
- My one-man show
- Not the prettiest job, but it will do
